It can also be used to check whether sensitive products, such as electronic components, come into contact with water, thereby identifying unjustified complaints. In the laboratory, it is used to easily check solvents for water content. If the test paper remains uncolored after the solvent has evaporated, the solvent is water-free. To easily detect water vapor in gas streams, moisten the test paper with anhydrous isopropanol and hold it in the stream. If water and water vapor are present, the paper will turn blue.
